Single Pass Lining System for Hydraulic Tunnels
TWRM Extension Brixton to Honor Oak (2007 – 2011)

A high integrity single pass segmental lining was developed incorporating a double EPDM gasket for outstanding watertightness. The lining did not rely upon any bolts or fasteners instead resistance to surge was provided by systematically ensuring the integrity of the annulus grout using Non-Destructive Testing Techniques. This enabled the secondary lining to be eliminated which resulted in significant time and cost savings for the Client (Thames Water).

This project was the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) London Awards 2010 Special Award Winner.
